School-based Assessments
With regards to assessing the learning levels, the aim of assessments is to be independent, periodic and holistic. There are two types of assessments, 1) School-based assessments and 2) Large scale assessments. The department is strengthening school-based assessments to decentralize the approach and make regular monitoring of student learning possible without the stress usually observed in high-stakes one-time exams. Teachers will use the state’s Skill Passbook to assess students on grade-level competencies.
